Committee Meeting: We had a committee meeting Wednesday night that was quite productive. The Troop calendar has been updated with the meeting and activity dates and times, check it out to see all that we are doing! Future plans that we discussed and need to finalize are: CPR training, we will need to get numbers of those that want to be trained to schedule this and the more we get the better for the Troop. Troop 90 fund raiser, we are thinking can drive in Febuary or March after the big bowl game when lots of returnables could be had! Any other suggestions? We are open to all new ideas, bring them up at the Troop meeting or join us at a committee meeting with your ideas.
Troop Meeting minutes: We had a good show up of scouts and parents this week but will always be looking for all of the troop to show at the meetings and camp-outs! We had a round table about scout activities, we asked the scouts to list what they wanted to do and where they want to camp on weekends. Ralph initiated this in an attempt to find out what the scouts want to do to try and increase the camp-out attendance. Laser tag and bowling are both ideas that came from this.
Den Chief Training Be prepared to have fun, meet new and old friends, exchange ideas, and sharpen your Scouting leader skills. You'll increase your knowledge, gain valuable skills, and find fun and exciting ways to make the program more interesting to the Scouts you serve. More than a hundred hands-on workshops and training classes will be offered. All three programs of the Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing, are represented. The material presented will help to enrich every pack, troop and crew. This training is being offered by the The Southeast Michigan University of Scouting on saturday, November 1, 2008 at Lamphere High School in Madison Heights. Lamphere is on the north side of 13 mile about 1/2 mile west of John R. Learn more by going to their web site at: http://www.cvc-bsa.org/uos08/index.html
